I would like to highlight the following: SAPPHIRE, with more than 10,000 attendees on-site in Orlando, Florida, plus 8,000 virtual attendees, has become the largest SAPPHIRE to date. From outlining SAP's strategy and vision to unveiling new products, SAPPHIRE was providing more ways than ever for you, our customers, to gain the clarity and transparency to become a best-run business. SAP was once again co-locating SAPPHIRE with Americas' SAP Users' Group (ASUG).

The "Clear New World" and why "IT Does Matter"
As the global economic downturn with the associated fallout continues, there's a thirst for finding something positive. Companies and consumers alike are realizing that it will be difficult to "go back to the way things used to be," and are wondering what’s next. Companies increase their focus on what is core, organizing for higher efficiency and lower risk and readying themselves for sustainable growth through strategic investments in IT. Investments that facilitate network collaboration and position the business for the next wave of growth.

Having clarity into business and its entire operations has never been more important. Greater transparency, visibility and accountability can help companies overcome core business challenges and take full advantage of opportunities they didn't even know existed.

We are proud to announce the new SAP campaign "It's time for a Clear New World." Using imagery that emphasizes clear - and at times, panoramic - vistas, as well 'visibility' into an office or factory floor, SAP contends "when you see risks clearly, you can manage them effectively." We announced the launch of this new, exciting branding campaign on May 12 at SAPPHIRE 2009.

SAP BusinessObjects Explorer
At SAPPHIRE, we announced the release of SAP BusinessObjects Explorer, the groundbreaking new software that helps customers better understand their businesses, make sounder decisions, and overcome challenges in a tough economic environment. The software brings together search and navigation capabilities from the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio with SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse Accelerator, enabling to explore and tap into mountains of business data quicker than ever before. Transparent and Interactive: SAP Unveils 2008 Sustainability Report
In mid-May, SAP published its new and interactive Sustainability Report and was proud to announce that it reduced its total corporate carbon footprint by 6.7% in 2008 compared to 2007. SAP has made a long-term strategic commitment to sustainability and to helping other companies master social, environmental, and corporate responsibility challenges. SAP's 2008 Sustainability Report describes the individual measures the company has taken to achieve this goal and shows how SAP is helping its customers improve their own sustainability performance. For the first time, stakeholders can access a unique interactive and role-based Sustainability Report interface based on Xcelsius software from the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio.

SAP Enterprise Support Task Force

As earlier noted, SUGEN and SAP put a Benchmark program together to measure and provide a baseline to assess the value for using and moving to SAP Enterprise Support.

The benchmark fulfils the following purposes:
o    First, solid benchmarking gives us the ability to quantify improvements over time for a specific customer by exercising the benchmark on a regular basis.
o    Second, benchmarking will give our members the opportunity to benchmark their individual situation against peers and other companies. This allows to identify the areas where improvement must be achieved.
o    Support the value proposition of SAP Enterprise Support and justify the investment of the customer.


SUGEN nominated a representative group of customers where SAP Enterprise Support will be performed and data will be collected from the customers through the Benchmark Program. In the last weeks SUGEN and SAP on boarded the customers and have been briefed about the Benchmark Program. The next step is now to create the Baseline with the participating customers. After an action plan has been established with each customer the SAP Enterprise Support Services will be delivered to enable together with the customer the value of SAP Enterprise Support.

Influence update and Collaboration Workspace from SAP

News to share from the Americas' SAP User Group (ASUG) Annual Conference in Orlando, FL:
In May 2009, the Influence program reported very positive feedback and high participation from the user community involved in terms of influencing SAP products.
Influence Councils, Usability activities and SAP NetWeaver Strategy sessions are some examples of influence options offered to ASUG's User Community members, which allowed them to further influence SAP. More than 500 members were actively involved in 28 Influence Council sessions, 120 Usability tests were conducted with over 150 participants, and 16 SAP NetWeaver strategic topics were influenced through multiple sessions offered at the conference. Furthermore, new councils and focus groups will be launched as another positive result of this event, demonstrating the interest from the user community in engaging closely with SAP in influencing the future portfolio of products.

The Influence program at this conference also counted with the presence of delegates from other SAP User Groups including the Netherlands User Group (VNSG) and the Swedish User Group (SAPSA). VNSG and SAPSA’s contributions have made possible to enable an international collaboration of user communities, further aggregating the member voices in influencing SAP's portfolio. Examples of VNSG contributions to the international influence on SAP include the Influence Council for Process Integration (with ASUG and the German-speaking user group DSAG) and the SAP solution roadmaps sharing and feedback processes.

Collaboration Workspace from SAP (CW) update: This Influence platform is streamlining and making it easier for the User community members to participate in the short and long term influence on SAP products and services. CW continues to expand and will be used even further for influence opportunities, including opportunities to engage in the SAP solution maps, SAP development projects, etcetera. Portalprojekt finansieras och drivs ofta av IT avdelningen och kopplingen till verksamhetens mål är dålig. Mål och förväntade kostnader är ofta vagt definierade även när beställaren kommer från verksamheten.

De framgångsfaktorer för ett portalprojekt som jag tänkt presentera riktar in sig på fällor man lätt hamnar i vid införande av en portal. De bygger på de positiva och negativa erfarenheter jag samlat på mig under mina nio år som portalkonsult.

En Rapport från Forrester säger att de flesta portal projekt misslyckas med att leverera fördelar för verksamheten. Det är också tydligt att många projekt misslyckas med att korrekt leverera enligt en eller flera av parametrarna omfattning, tid och kostnad. Det kan finnas en mängd orsaker som ligger bakom ett misslyckande, som t.ex. dåliga kunskaper om produkten eller att för sent involvera användarna i processen och jag tänkte peka på dem man ska undvika och peka på saker man ska prioritera.

Looking for interest for

New SAP Treasury user group for the Nordic region

This is intended to anyone that either is a business user or technical responsible for
one or more of the following SAP applications; SAP Cash & Liquidity Management, SAP
In-House Cash Management, SAP Treasury & Risk Management, SAP Bank
Communication Management, Integration package for SWIFT.

The reason why I send you this email is
I am looking to set up a user group for Nordic companies that have one or more
of the above SAP applications.

At present there is no specific Nordic SAP user group focusing on these Treasury related topics. There are user groups in central Europe but since the bank infrastructure and services are different between the Nordic region and the central/southern Europe, our
needs are somewhat dissimilar.

A user group will benefit from the possibility to impel more “Nordic” specific questions
towards SAP and hence get our needs higher on their priority list of things to
enhance/develop. One small company will not get much attention from SAP but all Nordic companies represented in one user group will surely have a larger chance of being acknowledged. We could also use the group to share experience on past implementations and give each other valuable ideas on how to fully utilize the system. In addition, SAP has already agreed to continuously introduce the group to any new and enhanced feature that
is in the pipeline.

This is just an application of interest and accordingly you do not commit yourself to
anything by replying to this email. If I receive enough interest applications I will coordinate a web conference where everyone can get together and discuss a potential co-operation.

I would very much appreciate if you could reply to me as soon as possible and let me
know whether you are interested to join a Nordic SAP user group for Treasury related
applications or not.
